For centuries, bojagi have carried and protected books, clothing, food, and tableware—serving as companions in daily life and journeys alike. On special occasions, such as weddings, their purpose is celebrated even more, and their forms often transform into vibrant displays. To share the beauty of these traditional knots and folds, we have reimagined bojagi in a delicate, miniature magnet form.

The first product from UNI Studio, awarded the Special Prize at the 2026 Korea Tourism Souvenir Competition, and selected for the 2025 National Museum of Korea “MU:DS” Competition and the 2025 Korea Heritage Agency “K-Heritage” Competition.

Based on Korea’s traditional five colors, this set includes five miniature bojagi magnets: Jeong Knot, Round Knot, Butterfly Knot, Sangtu Knot, and a modern interpretation of the Western Ribbon Knot.

The <Three Red Beans of Fortune> series reinterprets traditional Korean fortune pouches—Gwi Jumeoni, Gangneung Jumeoni, and Duru Jumeoni—through a contemporary craft perspective. Inspired by a Joseon-era custom in which the king shared red beans with children at the beginning of the year to ward off misfortune and wish them good fortune, the work features three symbolic red beans. Small brass bean ornaments add a modern touch to the traditional pouches.

The Gwi Jumeoni, made of green satin, symbolizes life and good fortune. The Gangneung Jumeoni, crafted from purple satin, reflects the elegance of traditional craftsmanship. The Duru Jumeoni, made with colorful saekdong fabric, represents joy and hope. The Jumeoni can be used as a decorative ornament, a scented pouch, or a small accessory pouch.

Traditions of Protection and Good Fortune, Nestled in an Antique Drawer

Inside the warm embrace of an antique wooden drawer rest the sacred symbols of Korean heritage—the Bokjumeoni (fortune pouch) to gather blessings, and the dried pollack wrapped in Bojagi to ward off ill fortune.

More than a repository of motifs, this collection is the very heart and essence of UNI Studio. It stands as a poetic summary of our two-year journey: a testament to the time, reverence, and devotion woven into every single stitch. While rooted in the timeless lineage of Korean traditional craft, the seventeen works unveiled in this space were brought to life with unprecedented dedication, breathing soul into each detail.

Through an intricate dialogue of fine silks, patterned Yangdan, crisp Mosi (ramie), and lustrous Myeongju, harmoniouly accented with precious gemstones and meticulous knotwork, we honor the quiet elegance of Korean antique woodwork.

Like filling a cherished vessel with wishes of abundance, each creation cradles our heart and history—offering not mere objects, but living stories crafted to hold and reflect eternal blessings.

The Mini Bojagi Magnet begins with selecting the fabric, and ends with the knot tied tight. Unlike larger bojagi knots, it demands careful, precise hands. Within the atelier, as fabric is folded and tied repeatedly, our tradition comes alive.

*Jeong Knot – A knot shaped like the Chinese character for “well” (井), symbolizing a clear heart and deep sincerity. Its pronunciation is the same as “jeong (情),” which also represents warmth and affection between people.

*Round Knot – A knot with a rounded center, created by winding layers multiple times. It symbolizes dedication, care, and completeness.

*Butterfly Knot – Inspired by the flapping wings of a butterfly, this knot represents good fortune, transformation, and vitality.

*Sangtu Knot – Modeled after the traditional topknot worn by men during the Joseon dynasty, featuring a raised center. It symbolizes coming of age, responsibility, and etiquette.

*Maendrami Knot – A knot resembling the Cockscomb (maendrami) flower, symbolizing passion and wishing for good health.

*Ribbon Knot – A modern knot inspired by Western-style ribbons, expressing the connection between tradition and contemporary design.

A limited edition celebrating 2026, the Year of the Fire Horse. The jade-colored Jeong Knot is adorned with a horse motif, symbolizing the Fire Horse year. The set also includes Sangtu and Butterfly Knots, reminiscent of bride and groom, a Round Knot featuring traditional saekdong stripes, and a modern Ribbon Knot.

The pink edition was produced as a limited edition for the National Museum of Korea “MU:DS.” And the green edition for produced as a limited edition for the Korea Heritage Agency “K-Heritage.” The limited edition includes hand-drawn stickers.

An edition that interprets Korea’s calm and refined aesthetics in a contemporary way. Using various fabrics such as mosi (hemp), yangdan, and silk, the edition emphasizes the natural glow and texture of each material.
The unique qualities of each fabric enhance the sculptural beauty of the five knots. The signature Chaekgado packaging is rendered in monochrome, expressing a restrained, elegant presence.

Welcome to Uni Studio’s First 'Dol'! In Korea, a child’s first birthday is called 'Dol', and it is celebrated with a grand feast called 'Doljanchi'. Historically, reaching the first year was a monumental milestone, so families gathered to share food, ward off negative energy, and wish the child a long, healthy, and prosperous life.

On this special table, called a 'Dol-sang', you will find a playful and modern twist by Uni Studio. Instead of traditional stacked rice cakes, we have piled our signature Mini Bojagi Magnets like towers, wishing for endless creativity and rising fortune.
